Low Vision Dinnerware - Low Vision dinnerware line developed in 2012 from a customer request for a dinnerware set for her father who was vision impaired. Available on special order.
Bowls and plates have broad base for stability and the edge that curves in, enabling food to fall back into the fork or spoon instead of going over the edge onto the table. Plates, bowls, mugs, and glasses are glazed with one side dark for ease in viewing light colored foods, and one side light for dark colored foods or drink, with dark top edge to add visual contrast for easier location. Plates can be made with the octagonal edge standard to make food location easier. Soup bowl has handle that stays cool and helps keep the hand away from hot bowl. Mugs and drinking glasses have straight sides to accommodate the "liquid-level" gadget to prevent overfilling. Drinking glasses have indents on four sides for secure grip.
